Hempstock Studios owes its existence (and its name) to a speech, a novel, and a punk cabaret performance artist. Without the inspiration of Neil Gaiman and Amanda Palmer, my life would be very different indeed. Through them, I learned that there is a real audience for the type of writing and art that interests me... a whole world of oddballs like myself who relish and rejoice in the imperfect, the different, the slightly strange... and that there is a place in this world for those of us whose creative bent is spread across widely varied endeavors.

This shop is one of several outlets for my creations. Each piece of art you find here is unique. Made by yours truly. Imperfect by nature and design and the limitations of the human hand. Each creation carries a little piece of me with it…its own little story of how it came to be in this world. You may not know that story, but it exists none-the-less. And like all my stories, eventually I need to let them go…to live out their lives in someone else’s head, on someone else’s nightstand, to be worn by someone else who will make them a part of their own story. Perhaps that someone is you.
